open letter

Recently I heard about a girl who was complaining because the father of her soon to be child was not doing enough for her. This really irritated me. She is so mean to him because she feels he doesnt do enough, so this is my open letter for her.

Dear Girl,

There are so many things you will learn once you become a mother. I assume you feel like your baby daddy isn't doing enough because you are basing his actions on someone else. But he is not someone else, and your relationship is not someone else's. There are so many things you should be grateful for. You could have a man in your life who does the following...
-comes home from work and immediately grabs alcohol and drinks himself to sleep.
-keeps you from hanging anything on the walls because when he gets mad he takes things off the wall and throws them at you.
-makes you too scared to sleep because you often wake up with him on top of you
-spends every cent in your account on drugs and alcohol, which is a regular occurance
-lets your spend hours in the kitchen while you are 7 months pregnant preparing a Thanksgiving meal only to go to sleep and ignore you the entire day. Leaving the food you worked so hard on uneaten
-makes you spend Christmas alone in your house, thousands of miles away from your family and friends while he sits locked in his music room drinking himself unconscious.
- regularly tells other women he wants to sleep with them
-smokes pot in your house while you are pregnant and then tells you the smell is all in your head and you are crazy
-locks you out of your house while you are 6 months pregnant and have nowhere to go because you have no friends or family in the town that you live.


I could go on but I wont. And to the girl that all of the above things have happened to, I say you too are blessed. You could have had a man who beats you or your child. So be thankful for what you do have and try not to dwell on the things that aren't the way you want them.
